in San Angelo Police Call Off Loop 306 Speed Trap Due to Weather
Best time for Speed Trap is when it is least expected!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also check for driver license and insurance. Toll the vehicles. Take driver to jail if continue not to have insurance or driver license. A slap on the hand does nothing to deter bad behavior. Maybe revenue will help with pay raises for Police and the filling in of pot holes but of course this would need some maneuvering by City Council. The City needs money for infrastructure so go after it.
Do not tell drivers when next Speed Check will be--->January 23rd as makeup day. Now drivers know to avoid Loop 306.
in Fireworks! Young's Defense Puts Texas AG Prosecutors on Stand
I spoke with a forensic pathologist who said that it was almost impossible to test for toxins after cremation. She said "almost" because it would be possible if the temperature did not get hot enough.
I share your suspicions regarding the speedy timeline for cremation. I find it odd that a judge would have approved such a method of disposing of the body, especially given Sullivan's notoriety. The Church has several reasons why it always opposed cremation (prior to the 1960s, and changes which Sullivan never approved of), and one important reason was that it allowed for the possibility of exhuming the body to examine it for signs of trauma and could be tested for toxins. Fire has been the friend of many criminals over the millennia.
in Cold Front Set to Bring Ice, Sleet, and Maybe Snow
I guess all that road prep scared the moisture away. Not a drop. And it has been taken out of the forecast. What gives? are we in a drought or something? Some are saying so.
find it convenient that John Sullivan's remains were cremated almost immediately after his death?
A cremation that went against a devout catholic's beliefs?
Has science found a way to test cremains for toxins?
in Abilene’s Houses for Healing to Celebrate a Grand Opening
Looks like Abilene is ahead of the San Angelo in the area of this kind of help for people for there medical needs. So to both the hospitals in San Angelo Shannon Medical Center and San Angelo Community Medical Center wake up and figure this out. There are so many elderly people who travel and this would be the perfect solution. Hotels are too high. For people at Shannon who come in to receive Chemo for several days in a row then have to stay in a hotel in costly. We did this but had to go from here to San Antonio for part of it. For people that need to be at the hospital at 530 am for surgery it would be great. It's nearly impossible to get a child up and get them to the hospital if you live here much less if you drive from Odessa if your child has a cleft lip or palate and San Angelo is the closest place to come unless you drive to Dallas, San Antonio, or Austin. I cannot imagine there is not some kind of grant to get this done and I know for a fact San Angelo has enough churches in town for each of them to take care on one of them. There are good people in San Angelo so there may be individuals willing to take care of one too. If anyone agrees with this please post it . Then Joe Hyde ,your elected, take the info to the hospitals, city council and county commissioners and leave them a packet of post, Maybe they will open it and read them. The more post the better.
in What if North Korea Nuked San Angelo?
Since this town is one giant pothole and washboard driving obstacle course, maybe a nuke strike in the center would be noticed and maybe not. It may take months for anyone to notice there had been a strike, but hopefully the newly paved MLK would survive as our legacy.
in San Angelo Spared the Sam’s Club Apocalypse
When Costco moves in with all of our latest "growth" sams will close. their inventory sucks, there is almost always nearly expired produce there and to be honest sams is old, kind of like our city council. OUTDATED and in need of a remodel. Not to mention your produce is almost always rotten/moldy.
in Top San Angelo Democrat is Mad as Hell
Please rename your political party name to Stuck under a rock for the last 10 years.
The author was either A: drunk when he wrote this. Or B: High on dope.
Honestly stop with the whole what if situation and find a real story.
There's some benefits - the water would probably taste better and the streets would be as smooth as glass.
in February Brings Taco Favorites Back to Life
I completely agree with Big Daddy. Taco Villa is so much better than Taco Bell and Taco Bueno! We actually drive to Big Spring sometimes just to eat at Taco Villa!
Wish Taco Villa would come to San Angelo. Villa is better than bell and bueno combined. Taco Bell needs to make a deal with Ex-Lax(:
My nephew is a policeman there, so, yes, I'm worried about a nuclear detonation in a town that has virtually zero defenses should the warhead penetrate the peripheral defenses we have in place. Characteristically of tyrants, it is the weak spot they strive for, in order to do the most damage. Many other places in our country could also qualify as a soft target, but none of us should ever get the idea "Can't happen here, I'm safe".
Kudos to the writer and publisher, as these are the types of topics that need to be in the conversation, rather than the Kardashians, price of lemons at Walmart, or whether the Browns can win the super bowl.
Who gives a flying flip ? Why sit around and wring your hands and worry about it ? Make plans ? UH..... So what would you make a plan for, dig a 100 foot deep hole and live at the bottom of it for 5 years until the radiation level isn't quite as hot ? Fact is.... there's nothing, absolutely nothing you could do to save yourself or your family. Just accept it and if you're unlucky enough to be one of the "survivors" of the initial blast, you've got days, months and maybe years of misery and suffering ahead of you. If there is a best preparation, keep a weapon with you with plenty of ammo and prepare for mass suicide, at least that would be quick and painless as opposed to the alternative.......
Please tell this bumpkin what a crawl is. Something was up his crawl?
What is "slight-of-hand"? I've heard of "sleight-of-hand."
Forgive me. I just felt like caviling this morning. I am too lazy to check Urban Dictionary for words I'm unfamiliar with.
I wish there was a way to "like" responses. As it is, I am happy that at least half the people who responded saw this article for what it is and pointed it out in a civil manner.
I have no idea how I stumbled onto this old article.
